I know this theater was a huge part of my mother's and father's childhood and youth and young adulthood in Quincy in the 1920's through 1940's. SOOO GLAD it is being restored! Excellent decision. It will be an entertainment draw for the entire region. - Marilyn Irene Keller Rittmeyer

Favorite Childhood Place
One of my favorite childhood places! 35 cents on Saturday
afternoon got us a double or triple feature and my parents a few hours of
peace, likely. My oldest daughter's first movie was there...The Muppet Movie. -

Largest crowd
I was a usher '61 - '63. I think the largest crowds ever was
for the movie Gypsy with Natalie Wood. Sold out twice the same night and still
turned people away. Recall people even standing in the wall aisles. I
forget what the admission price was but with that and concession receipts I
twice had a walking police escort to the bank night deposit one block away. -
